Marie’s journey with bodywork began in 2008 in a ski resort in France where she started studying Ortho-Bionomy while she was working as a relaxation massage therapist. She was mainly giving post ski massages and this sparked her interest for understanding more of the human body in movement. A year later she moved to Australia, she completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage and also continued to train in Ortho-Bionomy. Since then she has been practicing both techniques in spas and clinics in Sydney and Melbourne and she is now running a successful clinic in Newcastle. Marie is qualified to treat a varied range of conditions from muscle and joint pain to reducing stress and anxiety or helping with sports injury. She is devoted to enhance the well being of each client. Her approach is gentle yet effective and suited to each individual.
As Marie was in the top 5% of graduates from Evolve College (formerly known as the Australian College of Massage, the leader in massage education) she was invited to lecture for the college and did so for 6 years. Marie’s teaching journey took her to the four corners of Australia to teach hundreds of students from Perth to Sydney via Newcastle. Her passion for anatomy is obvious and contagious! Students always enjoy Marie’s enthusiasm and her fun yet informative way to pass on her knowledge. Marie stopped teaching massage in 2017 when her daughter was born and she now runs her own anatomy workshops for yoginis, yoga teachers and teacher training programs.
Marie is also a certified yoga teacher, her latest discoveries about the human body has pushed her to create specific yoga classes designed to nurture and empower students.
When she is not practicing Ortho-Bionomy or yoga or researching more information about the human body (she never stops exploring!) you can find Marie on a wave as she is a very keen surfer, on a yoga mat practicing meditation or at home making aromatherapy products and cooking delicious organic meals!
